We have in our family a framed painting that my Grand Mother painted when she was a young woman of swans swimming on a pond with lillies, I wanted to replicate her work in woven wool applique, the frame is also cut from wool to resemble a carved picture frame.  I named it after the river that flows through Hobart that is the home to hundreds of happy and beautiful swans.
